37 Weeks and Counting!
Hello! Well, I'm 37 weeks and still going strong. I had an appointment today and things are looking good. Unfortunately my Group B Strep came back positive this time. So weird. The girls were negative but they say this is very common. So, no worries. They said he is head down...way down...and posterior. So at least he's upside down instead of breech...but now he's facing the wrong way! Hopefully he'll turn in time. Man, this little boy has been giving me grief! He better come out the cutest little kid in the world (of course he will, he's my son and I haven't made an ugly one yet!)
We have the nursery all put together...finally! We decided it was better to wait as long as we could. The girls have a tendency to go in there and play with all of the baby stuff so we wanted them to have as little time as possible to destroy things.
Maddie asks me everyday "how old is baby brother today?" She hasn't quite figured that part out yet. Every time I go to the "Baby Doctor's" they both ask if he's going to take baby brother out today. "Not today" I say, "baby brother isn't big enough." I think that is what Maddie is referring to when she asks me how old he is.
So, Maddie thinks that I "ate" the baby and that's how he got in my tummy. We're going with that for a while. So one day she asked me how the dr. is going to take him out. I turned it around and asked her how she thought he was going to do it. She thinks he is going to take him out through my mouth since that's how he got in there in the first place. Again, we're going with that for a while. She did ask how ducks lay eggs and the only way I could think to describe it was that they "pooped" them out. So then she asked me if I was going to "poop" baby brother out. I told her kind of. I think she's still leaning towards the out of my mouth version though. That's what she'll tell you anyway.
So, next week we will do a little poll about weight and length and time and day. So be thinking about it!!

24th of July
I forgot to take my camera so I don't have any pictures, but I know a lot of you have been wondering if I'm ever going to blog again. So, I'll just tell you what we did yesterday. The girls went swimming at the local pool with their Grandma Childs and cousins Zack and Tyler. I didn't go swimming for reasons that I won't reveal but the kids sure had a fun time. I went to Babies R' US with kids and had fun shopping for the new baby!
After swimming we went over to Grandma's house and had donughts, popcicles, treats, you name it. We BBQd a little later and then ate milkshakes and more treats. I pretty much ate my weight in food, which is significantly higher than normal right now. We loaded the kids up in the car and took them to the Orem Owlz game. We had free tickets and so we went at the very end and sat on the grass and watched the firework show. Maddie of course had little comments to make throughout the night but my favorite one was "This is so great! I can't believe my eyes!" The girls love the "big" fireworks and it was a nice ending to a fun day.

The 4th
I was really surprised when Maddie came home one day from school and recited the pledge of allegiance to me. I thought that some maniac had banned that from the schools. When she first learned it she used to say " I congratulations to the flag of the United States of America...then the whole middle part was totally messed up I can't even mimick what she said...the last part was Under God, indibisible with Liberty and Justin for all" (she has an Uncle Justin) Anyway, I wish I would have filmed it that day. But now she does it a lot better. The last part in the video they learned in preschool for their class.
Our 4th of July festivities started out with a really gross ward breakfast. They had some fun little games for the kids to play and a "fishing pond." Both of the girls came home with Goldfish. Emma was so excited to finally have her own fish. Maddie already has a Beta Fish that she bought with her birthday money. Unfortunately, they both learned the hard lesson of the Circle of Life the next morning when Madalynn's fish died and then later in the afternoon Emma's fish died. There was a fly that got caught in the water with Maddie's fish and she just couldn't understand that it was dead and not sleeping...so I blamed it on the fly.
It's not a Newbold 4th of July without a water fight!! Every year for as long as I can remember there has been a water fight. I have to admit that I have not participated that much in recent years, but the kids still enjoy it. We use waterballoons and waterguns to start it out with. Then we get really creative and start filling up cups and buckets. Uncle Jeff had a few marshmallow guns this year to add to all of the excitement. Those little buggers hurt! Madalynn and my cousin Naomi kept the fight going all day long. They did take a few brakes and play at the park, but then peace time was over and it was time for war!
When we're not dousing each other with water we are playing games. Board games, card games, dice games, horseshoes, and the other 4th of July tradition...Danish Ball! I did play this year despite my roundness and everyone was worried. Not me. I ran a homerun and did a nice graceful leap to catch the ball my dad hit to get him out! I had a pretty good game. My team won of course and neither dad nor Jason were on my team. Hmmm pregnant ladies can still kick butt!
After the park festivities we headed over to Grandma and Grandpa Childs house. We BBQd and ate ourselves silly. Jason and I taught Justin and Nicole how to play Lasso Golf and we played a few rounds of that. We continued our game playing in the house until it was time for the girls most anticipated part of the day...FIREWORKS!
And then there's the "Piece de Resistance"...SPARKLERS!!! Even Jason got in on the action. I really wish it hadn't been so dark for video so you could see him prance around with 2 in his hands. He's really quite light on his feet! Emma gave us a continuous chorus of "Bibidi Bobbidi Boo" and Maddie would spell her name but mostly just make sure that the sparks didn't touch her. I had a few sparklers to play with too. When all was said and done we sat and watched the "Big Fireworks" from a far. It was a nice quiet end to a fun-filled day. Happy Birthday America!

A Star is Born
Today I had my 15 seconds of fame as a sunglass model on Good Things Utah. It was fun. I looked fat and pregnant and I hated the way my hair looked. But it was still fun and I got to be on t.v. http://www.abc4.com/content/gtu/featured_on/story.aspx?content_id=b2d70e0c-94d3-4c70-a507-dfe2f542cc43
Kayla was gracious enough to watch the girls for me and when I got back Maddie said to me "Mom I saw you on t.v.! Did you see me?" Cute.
It was fun while it lasted but I'm glad it's over. Next...American Idol! Krista and I are thinking about auditioning. I told Kayla that if she auditioned for the t.v. show "So you think you can dance" then I would try out for American Idol. Of course I was planning on auditions being next year when I would be too old, but here they are and I will keep my promise. Any suggestions on what I should sing?
